In response to a regulatory standards investigation into the safety of baby walkers, a number of companies involved in the manufacture and supply of baby products received notification at 5pm on a Thursday evening that a general press release was to be issued the next day indicating that baby walkers of certain makes were dangerous. Publication was to be in the national press.
How did we help:
The DLA Piper Rapid Response team was contacted at 11pm to intervene (after the companies had held initial discussions with the regulator). We were able to mitigate the press release by negotiating with the regulator regarding future safety tests and by sharing relevant information with the media.
